- Originally given No. 2215 to be a reinforcement for the 7th. Battalion. However it appears that he almost got to Gallipoli as he did get to Lemnos at about the time of the Allied withdrawal from Gallipoli. On his return to Egypt he was transferred to the 58th. Battalion and given a new number as part of the doubling of the size of the AIF prior to moving to the Western Front.
