  Notes	Victoria Beatrice (Queenie) SUMNER (1887-1958) was committed to the Neglected Childrens System (No. 17812) on 24 Nov 1890 soon after the arrest of her father for coining (counterfeiting). She was fostered at several addresses in the Bendigo area and later at Murrumbeena, Kongwak and Geelong. She absconded in 1903 only to return after two days. Her record also shows the sad fact that she was fitted with an artificial eye at the Eye and Ear Hospital after an accident on 26 August 1901. Neglected Childrens' Registers SUMNER, Victoria, 1887, Voll 11, p.179. ____ The Sands and MacDougall Directory for 1939 shows her address as: Mrs. V. O'BRIEN 4 Howard Street North Melbourne VIC This address was later used by her daughter Thelma O'BRIEN.
