Weighed 8 pounds at birth. The French people were curious to see the fair skinned, light haired baby in the hospital.

Earl attended Queen Street Public School and Welland High School in Welland, McMaster University in Hamilton graduating in 1957 with an Honours Degree in Economics. He attended Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto, graduating with an L.L.B. in the spring of 1960. He articled with McComb, Coulter and Sullivan in Welland, finishing articles with Bruce Mackey in Oshawa. He was called to the bar of Ontario April 12, 1962, (Gertrude Crosier's birthday!).

After marriage, he began the practice of law in Oshawa with his brother-in-law Bruce Vipond Mackey, at 36 1/2 King Steet East. Later the office changed location to 17 Simcoe Street North, and still later to 22 King Street West.

Earl and Jean (Samells) lived first in Toronto (Forest Hill) at 345 Lonsdale Rd., Apt. 305. In June, 1963, they moved to a brand new apartment building in Oshawa at 323 Gibb Street, Apt. 15. In April, 1965, they with son Craig moved to a new home at 1022 Oshawa Boulevard North, Oshawa.

Earl married SAMELLS Jean Marie 19 Aug 1961, United Church, Port Perry ONT. Jean (daughter of SAMELLS George Wesley and CROSIER Alpha Gertrude) was born 26 Mar 1936, Demara Road, Scugog Island ONT. [Group Sheet]

Notes:

Craig was educated at Beau Valley Public School, Central Park Senior Public School and O'Neill collegiate and Vocational Institute in Oshawa graduating in 1983. In June 1987, he graduated from McMaster University with a degree in Electrical Engineering, and he obtained a Masters degree from that institution in November, 1988. In January, 1989, he moved to Ottawa obtaining employment with Canadian Astronautics Ltd on Morrison Drive. He lived in an apartment on Greenbank Avenue and one year later purchased a town house nearby at 9 Saxton Private.

After marriage in 1992, he and Tricia continued to live there until April, 1994 when they moved to a detached home at 13 Liveoak Drive, Nepean (Barr Haven).

In November 1992, Craig became employed by BNR on Baseline Road, Ottawa.

Craig married LINK Patricia 11 Jul 1992, Park Bible Chapel, Burlington, Halton Region ONT. Patricia was born 21 Nov 1967, General Hospital, Burlington ONT. [Group Sheet]

Todd attended Beau Valley Public School, Central Park Senior Public School and O'Neill Collegiate and Vocational Institute in Oshawa, graduating in 1987. He then attended Waterloo University in a co-op programme, graduating in Mechanical Engineering May 30, 1992. In September, 1992, he entered Queen's University Law School. In May, 1994, he became a summer student at Bereskin Parr in Toronto and was accepted by them for his term of articles.

Lynn attended Beau Valley Public School, Central Park Senior Public School and O'Neill Collegiate and Vocational Institute in Oshawa, graduating in 1989. She enrolled at Queen's University in Honours Science. After dropping Physics at Christmas, she was introduced to Geology. 1990-1991 saw her accepted and participating in a Canada World Youth programme in Quebec and Brazil. She became fluent in French and Portugese. She returned to Queen's in September 1991, graduating in Geology June 6, 1994. For 5 summers, she was a coach operator with the Oshawa Transit system. September 1994, saw her begin a work term at the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto.
