- Recognised as one of the 'Rats of Tobruk' and is named on panel 37 of the Commemorative Area at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra, ACT.
Faced a Field Court Martial on 24 Aug 1942, was found guilty of two counts: 1. Conduct to the prejudice of good order and military discipline 2. When on active striking another soldier. He was sentenced to be return to Australia but some mitigating circumstances were found by 9th. Division Command and he continued to serve in the Middle East until he was killed-in-action on 28 Oct 1924. Lest We Forget.
