To be more precise, his unit was involved in many battles during the war, including the Battle of Gettysburg as a unit in the 1st. Brigade, 1st. Division Cavalry Corps, Army of the Potomac. He was killed-in-action on 6 Jul 1863 near Williamsport MD. His brother Thomas VINSON (1837-1890) served in the same regiment. |
