5763 | Searching in New Zealand (NZ) records for Henry Joseph "Joey" GRIMALDI reveals that there is no doubt about the fact that he did in fact go there. Set out below are four references: 1. He married Elizabeth WOOD in NZ in 1842 (Registration Number 1942/99). This fact creates another puzzle as his Certificate of Freedom issued in Newcastle NSW is dated 4 Apr 1843. Perhaps he was aware that the Certificate of Freedom was about to be issued and he moved to NZ in advance of the issue of that certificate. 2. Henry Joseph GRIMALDI appears in a list of persons qualified to serve as jurors for the district of Port Nicholson for 1850. Address: Lambton Quay, Occupation: Horse Breaker. (Does not appear in the same list for 1856.) 3. GRIMALDI, J. Wairarapa An Historical Excursion, A.G. Bagnall, 1976. Hedley's Books Ltd. for the Masterton Trust Lands Board. 4. Mr. & Mrs. GRIMALDI listed as performers at "A Mr. Sutherland Night" for Tuesday evening 12/10/1847 at the Britannia Saloon. List entitled Some of the Pioneers who came to Wellington and the Hutt Valley. | ROBINSON Henry Joseph, (Alias GRIMALDI) (I3675)
